Purposes of Grace Bible Church

Grace Bible Church has five major purposes that are designed to Glorify God through a loving outreach to people that bring them to Jesus.

You were Planned for God’s Pleasure. God created us with a desire to worship and it is our responsibility to do so. Psalm 95:6-7 Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.

You were formed for God’s family. As a body of believers we belong to each other and God wants us to have a relationship with each other. We are to love, encourage, support and lift each other up. Ephesians 2:19-22 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

You were created to become like Christ. Jesus set an example for us to follow. 1 Peter 2:21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps.

You were shaped for serving God. God expects us to use our gifts to benefit others. 1 Peter 4:10-11 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

You were made for a mission. Each of us have a mission and an important part of that is telling others the good news about Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:19-21 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
